Nu-Labour

I was reading the Daily Mail online today, and rather enjoying the rather common anti-labour rants that regularly appear there.  Almost without exception any reference to the Labour party was “Nu-Labour” – and in every case it is used pejoratively.  I have no idea where this spelling originated.  Obviously “New Labour” was itself coined by Labour, but “Nu-Labour”?

I found the Centre for Policy Studies refer to the Orwellian concept of News-Speak, which might be a vague possibility for its orgins, for many of the contemporary political euphemisms that float around – not exclusive to Labour of course – but even they didn’t mention Nu-Labour.

So I’m wondering who coined Nu-Labour, what is its etymology?
